The Rahab Bag "Eden" (NFS)

The Rahab Bag "Eden" was a special request from a client, that of which I utilized articles of clothing belonging to her grandmother. I was immediately drawn to a cardigan sweater, artistically embroidered with beautiful wildflowers. It reminded me of an untamed, magnificent garden, abundant in color and rich in fragrance. Eden is the Hebrew word for paradise; a place of extreme beauty, delight or happiness. Many associate paradise with the Garden of Eden from the book of Genesis. Visions of beautiful, lush gardens conjure up in one's mind. With this, I chose to highlight the needlework employing it as the focal point for this handbag.

The red scarf that is prominent on all Rahab bags are symbolic of the crimson cord that Joshua told Rahab to hang from her window (Josh 2: 18). The crimson cord would be a sign to the Israelites not to attack anyone of that household when they sacked Jericho.

The deep sky blue fabric used here is part of the collection of clothing belonging to my clients grandmother.

The buttons are from the floral cardigan sweater.

I also made a little change purse to match.

The lavender pockets were cut from a decorative blouse. These pockets are perfect for holding large sunglasses or your mobile phones.

The sea-glass buttons are also from my clients collection. The double pockets are located on both sides of the lining. Perfect for holding checkbooks, small note pads, mobile phones, business card cases, writing pens and nail files.

The Large Day Bag - "Eden" 2008

This stunning handbag is an updated version of the Large Day Bag that came out in 2006. It will stand up strong like a briefcase, and has a durable plastic bottom so to prevent any sinking in the middle. The handels are an acrylic tortoise shell , and the sides and bottom of the bag are faux leather. Antique brass 3/8" purse feet have been added to protect the bottom surface. This fabulous bag is called Eden. Eden is the Hebrew word for "paradise". The floral and tropical prints on this purse represent the Garden of Eden, and the snake skin print is meant to remind us of the serpent, our temptation, our sin, and then our Fall (Gen. 3). I began my ministry in spreading God's word through handbags in 2006 with Eden. God is good.

Eden measures 12" tall, 15" wide, and the base measures 6" deep. It has tons of room inside. My first client purchased Eden to hold all of her knitting supplies, as it is tall enough to comfortably hold the books and neatly stash away other supplies in all of her pockets. This handbag is a classic.

A happy client with her new purchase!

This handbag is the cat's meow inside. With one full size pocket complete with zipper in the middle, one 7" side pocket with zipper, and three extra large pockets (on the right), you can be assured that you have room for all of your girly needs, and then some. The acordian style side pockets are perfect for Blackberry's, your Jackie O sunglasses, checkbooks, cell phones, lipgloss and nail files. Don't be surprised when someone stops you and inquires about your beautiful bag! Don't forget to show them how awesome the inside is!

The Large Day Bag - "Eden"

This fabulous bac is called Eden. Eden is the Hebrew word for "paradise". The floral and tropical prints on this purse represent the Garden of Eden, and the snake skin print is meant to remind us of the serpent, our temptation, our sin, and then our Fall (Gen. 3). Although this particular bag is not for sale, I will be making more of these come Spring. The Eden Bag was the first of Scarlet Clover handbags. This was a limited edition of 3. With the first sale September 29, 2006, I began my ministry in spreading God's word through handbags. God is good.

This is the Large Day Bag. It measures 6" across the bottom. It has tons of room inside. My first client purchased Eden to hold all of her knitting supplies, as it is tall enough to comfortably hold the books and neatly stash away other supplies in all of her pockets. This handbag is a classic. I have had more women than I can remember stop me and ask me where I bought this. "Well, I make them" I said.
