The Oxford Bag "Animal Instincts" $280

The theme "Animal Instincts" was really drawn from my desire to shed a positive light on the snake. Snakes in the ancient world were a symbol of both death and danger and fertility, life, and healing. The Gospels retain the Jewish association of snakes with wisdom: in the Gospel of Matthew Jesus tells the twelve apostles to be "wise as serpents, and harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16) Through the use of Moses' Nehushta, the copper serpent on a pole provides healing for the sick. "Then the LORD sent poisonous serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many Israelites died. The people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD to take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said to Moses, "Make a poisonous serpent, and set it on a pole; and everyone who is bitten shall look at it and live." So Moses made a serpent of bronze, and put it upon a pole; and whenever a serpent bit someone, that person would look at the serpent of bronze and live." Numbers 21: 6-9. It's interesting to note that the symbol for the American Medical Association is drawn from this reference. Oxford Bag $270

This distinctive handbag is composed of a python print mole skin. The strap is unique in that 1/3 of it is made up of black leatherette finished with silver nickel plated hardware, while python print mole skin completes the rest of the long shoulder strap. The handles are 100% leather.









"Hot" is the only word that comes to mind when I look at this photograph. I positively love the color juxtaposition here. The eye catching pink interior is nicely set off by pockets that show off my signature cascade of fabrics in python print, silver and hot pink fabrics. The two smaller pockets in front are also lined in hot pink.







This handbag has a lovely pear shape when carried by the handles.

The Oxford Bag "Bricks and Stones"

The idea for this bag came to me well over a year ago, but getting those thoughts to become reality took quite some time to develop. The theme for this bag, "Bricks and Stones", comes from the book of Nehemiah where the prophet Nehemiah announces to the Israelite's, "Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, so that we may no longer suffer disgrace. I told them that the king had spoken to me. Then they said, "Let us start building!" So they committed themselves to the common good." Nehemiah 2:17-18. Although Cedar and Pine were most likely used with some stone for the materials, I have employed a modern interpretation using a brick style technique, symbolic of the wall.

BAM! Now tell me, how beautiful is that? I LOVE this new design. The two pockets in the front are the perfect size to hold keys, phones, compacts, lipsticks, personals, you name it! And yes, that is a little sparkle you see on the red.

I've created a brick pattern by alternating two types of designer faux leather. The leather handles are a nice addition when you need to grab your bag and go. Hardware and zippers are brass.






Whether you carry the Oxford Bag across your chest, or by the handles, this handbag is a real classic. When carried like this, it's pear shape lends it a nice feminine quality, with soft flowing lines.
